Plexus: Feeding Starving Children and Saving Lives
People from around the world suffer from hunger, even those who live in first-world countries. When it comes to some people, hunger is an issue that seems impossible to think about. The issue of when and where the next meal will come in is a common dilemma for a lot of families and children. The issue of world hunger is a topic that Plexus president Christopher Pair is well aware of. His real-life experience of childhood hunger is one of the reasons why he can relate to this issue strongly.
Being the grandson of a Mexican immigrant and the son of a sharecropper, poverty is something that he has been through and has only escaped when their father joined the military. Leaving the service, his father became a gardener to provide for the family. In the past, there was not enough food that is offered to all members of the family. The nutritional value of their food was also not an assurance. As a young boy, Christopher and his family had to look for other ways to pay for food such as recycling. They traded soda cans for money so they can buy meals.
Those years of uncertainty has made Christopher strive to get adequate education and go further in his career. With good health and prosperity in mind, Christopher Pair came to the direct selling industry to make a positive impact on the lives of other people. He is currently Plexus’ President of Operations and International to the direct selling company that help people choose to live healthier lives.
For a long time, Christopher Pair has been in the industry to help other people make the most of their lives. He joined Plexus because of their goal to help other people overcome health challenges. Because of their focus on nutrition and health, Plexus and Christopher Pair are finding ways to provide an end to world hunger.
In June 2018, Plexus partnered with Feeding America to feed people who are suffering from hunger. This partnership is built to put find long-term solutions for the hunger crisis. Plexus came up with their Nourish One initiative where if you purchase their Plexus Lean product, you will be giving monetary donation equal to 14 meals to Feeding America. For the five months alone, an equivalent of 4 million meal donations have been met.
With the goal of Christopher Pair to provide more than 10 million meals, its Nourish One Initiative has partnered with Mary’s Meals. Mary’s Meals is a worldwide child hunger charity that aims to feed 1.3 million children every day. For every purchase of Plexus Lean product that you make, a monetary donation will go to the charity. Mary’s Meals has even received a $25,000 donation on January 12 from Plexus.
With 17 of the world’s most impoverished countries, Mary’s Meals set up feeding programs at school with some community volunteer help. This helps encourage children to go to school to get a meal than beg to get one.
